FFECC Forum dates

Dear fellow members:

Your union leadership has been hearing a great many concerns in the past few weeks from our members. Some of them are contractual – others are not. We are scheduling member forums at each of the three campuses to talk with you about your concerns and strategize on how we can address them going forward. We want to keep the conversation solution-oriented. We can accomplish a lot through enforcing our contract and through our own professional behavior. But not everything.

Meeting dates:

Wednesday, November 6th, 2 – 4 pm, City campus, Post 420

Wednesday November 13th, 2 – 4 pm, South campus, Room 3104

Monday, November 18th, 2 – 4 pm, North campus, B207

Members are welcome to attend forums on other campuses, or attend more than one.

Some of the concerns we have heard:

Excessive cuts in course scheduling - lack of clarity about course scheduling expectations - lack of compliance with contractual dates.

Poor communication and lack of transparency from administration, e.g., about the college's enrollment and financial situations.

Changes in working conditions unilaterally without negotiation.

Numerous violations of our contract (which we are taking action on - we will report.)

Poor physical working, teaching, and learning conditions.

It seems that the current administration has chosen not to collaborate with or take advice from our established professionals who understand both the internal and external environments in which the College operates.

We are only strong when we stand together united. Please come and talk about how we can move forward as a union.

In solidarity,

Andrew Sako, President Patricia Kaiser, VP City Adrian R. Ranic, VP North James Ruggiero, VP South Michael Delaney, Grievance Chair

Jacqui Bollinger, Secretary

Kristin Kozlowski, Treasurer
